Muay Thai Kickboxing

Muay Thai, originating in Southeast Asia, has a long history in Thailand and is the country’s national sport. Muay Thai is referred to as “The Art of the Eight Limbs.” A Muay Thai kickboxer uses eight points of contact; fists (2 points), feet/shins (2 points), elbows (2 points), and knees (2 points). Muay Thai has gained notoriety as it is popularized by UFC fighters and Mixed Martial Arts practitioners. It has become the de facto martial art of choice for competitive stand-up fighters. Muay Thai is known for brutal leg kicks and effective striking in the clinch/trapping range with the utilization of knees and elbows.
